New love in my life

Don't worry you are still the love of my life Kevin!  But I recently discovered that I like power tools.  A lot.  I've never really used them before or had much reason to because there is always someone else around to do those types of projects.  Well I decided I wanted to take apart an old entertainment center that was sitting in my basement collecting dust and repurpose it for toy storage and for an extra shelf in my closet.  So I got out the drill and took the top off.  Easy enough.  Then I got out the circular saw and cut off the sides.  Then I got the sander out and sanded down the edges.  A few screws, silicone and sticky tiles later, it looked great.

A few nights later I was thinking about all the odd pieces of home repair/remodel items we had laying around and wondering if I could do something with them.  So I took some beadboard, leftover baseboards, caulk and liquid nails and turned it into a pretty frame piece for my wall.  And for this little project I used the miter saw.  I also cut a few braces for the shelves I plan to put in my closet.  I think it would be cool to use some 3form panels which is really cool plastic sheets that they make at Kevin's work.

I never thought that I would like using power tools so much (honestly they did scare me a little, I really like my fingers and the thought of getting them anywhere close to those blades made me a little nervous) but I had a blast working on these projects.
